The family

Christmas Time...

We, like everyone, have had a busy Christmas season. My brother Austin returned home from his mission, to the Marshall Islands. Between family and friends parties, and getting ready for the Wedding Show in January, we are excited to have a few days of down time. I opened my present early this year, Nikon DX and started taking pictures of Christmas. The pictures are starting to get better as I get more Familiar with the camera...now I need some Photography classes!!

Space!

Just letting everyone know that I am getting Retail Space for my Floral Shop. I am still working out all the details(okay, really I need to sand the floor.) It is on 900 East and about 3700 South. I am in the house of Intermountain Plant works, and will just start with one room, and start as consultation space...But, the possibilities are endless. Aggh. I am so excited, now to figure out the details...... I will add pictures as soon as I can find the charger cord.

Farmington Canyon

We took a nice Sunday stroll up Farmington Canyon. I am not that familiar with this Canyon, and realized why very soon. Holy, near death experience. Once you get pass the drop off from hell, it turns out to be very nice. A few too many 4 wheelers, but I just pretended that I did not see the guns to go shoot poor Bambi. The kids and dogs had a lot of fun hopefully we will get some more weekends like this, I am not ready for Winter.

Elijah Birthday Party.

We had a great Birthday party for Eli at my sisters house. She has a beautiful house and great back yard! Thanks to everyone who came.

What are kids thinking?

So I was reading Laurens blog about the funny things that kids say. I was sitting in my living room and I was laughing and my son asked me what I was laughing about. I will get right to the point, I started asking Ayden some of the questions, I got to the question "how are we the same" and he answered that we have the same eyes, which we do. Then just as I am about to move on to the next question he throws in "and the same penises" I ask what do you mean. And he reply's "when you were a baby you had a penis like me" I told him that we(girls) do not have penises...we have vagina's. He gives me his cute smile, that smile that means he knows more than me and says..".well, before yours fell off!" Can you imagine? I was laughing so freaking hard. Honestly, I am a little nervous about him going off to school. Do you even remember not knowing how things work? I used the word "actually" and he said mom, you need to stop using words I don't know, or how do you want me to listen. I not sure that I can raise boys...I am already at a loss for words. What happens when they are men?

Not sure...but this might work.

Remember That One Time...

Here is a fun little game...Leave a comment on our blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Justin is going to be my support.(aka bitch) I will be doing flowers for a friends wedding is Steamboat Springs. It will be good to get away without the kids!!! But of course as the life would have it, everything is always chaos right before you leave. Our car is in the repair shop and will hopefully be ready to go! Ahh, that is just the way it goes.

Not allowed

So, a few week ago my dog Dually, who is kinda a freak of nature, got out of the house at night, if we don't shut our side door just right, he can twist it and open it. So, when we woke up on Sunday morning and he was gone. We searched all over the neighborhood and could not find him. So bright and early on Monday I went down to Animal services. And low and behold there is my dog in "doggie jail" as we like to call it at our house. Well, the next thing you know I have two dogs. I saw this other little white lab and well, I am a sucker for puppy eyes. He is a three year old yellow lab that we named tommy. He loves to chase his tail, fetch, and skateboard with Justin. As for me, I am never allowed to go to Animal services again. Justin is now in charge of picking up any of the animals should they ever make it to Animal jail again.
Here is another funny story about our Animal house. Dually our seven year old lab, is what they call a block head lab...that means he is really big and looks like he is part mastiff. He weighs in at 135 pounds. So we are at the vet for an ear infection, and the doc starts talking about his weight. Guess what he had to say. My dog is obese, not just fat....obese. I did not even know a dog could be obese. So we have a weight management plan and exercise plan. Hilarious.

Weddings...Blah, Blah....

This was a wedding we designed last fall...we just got the pictures back and this is one of my favorites! It was such a cool wedding to design, the bride Jen, wanted a natural organic feel with touches of pinks...It was the biggest wedding we have done but definitely on my top 10. We now have the whole album on our website. I will be doing a all organic/local wedding in July, there is this grower in Ogden that I am trying out. He is at all the farmer's markets. It will be cool to see how that turns out. People ask me all the time what my favorite flower is....and I decided it will never be a flower...1.) It depends on the season. B) What colors are in style; who knew I would like orange so much. And last of all... I am a florist. I can't pick...some things I love for vases, some for bouquets and others for the fragrance. So please stop asking. Just kidding...ask away. And yes, I know that I used 1-then A, it is a tribute to my friend Kendra, who always uses both letters and numbers when explaining things. I wonder if she does it to see who is paying attention!! Anyways. I have decided that flowers are my saving grace, I can do flowers at home with my boys...and dogs, most of the time anyways. I called my mom last week and made her take Ayden and Gray so that I could get work done for the Wedding Show. Thank God for Grandma's....I am so luck to have such great Grandparents on both sides. I don't know what I would do without them. I also have a kick ass sister-that helps. But I decided that flowers are perfect for me, I can be creative without having to be artistic. If anyone has seen my stick figures, you know what I mean. I was just thinking that I talk way too much about flowers!!! Get use to it....I am addicted to flowers.

Our House

Just having a nice stay at home day with the boys!! I have cleaned the front room three times already and now I have a huge fort in it!! I love just watching them play. Ayden is drawing everything...honestly hours a day. Right now he is into drawing trains and tunnels. He also does numbers my favorite is 20 12 pronounced twenty twelve, comes right after twenty eleven. Elijah Gray is my feisty little red head, I call him spicy so I won't hurt his feelings. He loves doing whatever Ayden is doing and I can't cook without him. He is my little chef and has an appetite like one too. Ahh, kids. As for me and Justin, life has been busy....I am doing flowers more and more! This week we did flowers for a magazine shoot! If the pictures turn out well, we should be in the next issue of Utah Bride and Groom. We also have Valentine's Day coming up....and the Gateway Wedding show. When I say we I mean me and Katie... my partner...my business partner. It will be a crazy month. Justin is now working a Zevex, don't ask me what they do. I thought I knew, but I explained it to someone and let's just say Justin thought it was funny. He is really liking his job, and sometimes that is all I need to know. He is also taking a full load at the community college. So we have our hands a little full. But everyone is healthy and good.
